Every American who is concerned about the direction of the country in the midst of almost unimaginable change can learn a great deal from Sekulow's careful, scholarly and nonpartisan analysis of thebureaucracy that grows more powerful daily. Thoughtful, thorough, and definitely alarming, it adds valuable input to these questions: How did we get in this mess and more importantly, where do we go from here?
Undemocratic by Jay Sekulow was received direct from the publisher in exchange for this review. The novel is about the unelected and self sustained “Fourth Branch of the US Government.” What is that? You may ask. It is the US government bureaucracy born from extreme partisan that those who pay attention see rearing its ugly head each and every day. When it does rear its head, politicians from both sides act like they can do nothing about it, when they have all kinds of authority to behead this beast. As such, elections rarely seem to matter as the beast grows larger and more out of control, thanks to hacks like the “Johns,” (John Boehnner, McCain, Cornyn) for example. While the other side of the political fence continues to build its regulatory fence and the Johns do nothing about it. Nowadays there is no accountability for bureaucrats (can we say LERNER, insert Secrety Service Director name here, NLRB, FCC, FEC, etc, the list could go on for thousands of word). The alleged “gridlock” in government is not real either. What are the people to do? As we have seen, the people must: “ Resist reform and restore.” The book tells us nothing we don't know if we are one of the 5% who pay attention to things BUT has it all laid out for those who may have forgotten some items (I had), and for those who started paying attention later in life. If you or someone I know read my review and agreed with anything, this book is for you. If you argued with me in your head, don’t write a rebuttal here until after you buy the book and read it.
An inside look at the unelected bureaucracy and how it is running roughshod and out of control. Jay Sekulow is a respected Supreme Court lawyer and an advocate for human rights here and around the world. He gives you a non-partisan, inside look at this "fourth branch of government" gathered from years of experience. The IRS, the Justice Department, and he ERA are just some of the agencies on which he opens the door to scrutiny and examination. It all makes for a good read with some thoughtful take-aways. I recommend it for a summer read and for the permanent shelf.
This book explains, in easy to understand detail, what our current government has plunged our country into and the steps we need to take to reclaim our American Heritage.
This is a well informed author but this book will really aggravate you!!!!! I have tried to complete reading this book several times. Each time I finish one chapter, I have to set the book down and calm my nerves. It is so well written and I highly recommend reading this book, if you really want to know how our government is really operating. America is in for a rude awakening and this book confirms how the American people don't even have a clue as to the fullest extent of how we are being underminded.
I consider myself a well informed American but my socks were blown off when I started reading this book. Little did I realize how much we are governed by regulations not passed by Congress. We must take back our country if there is any hope for America. Jay Sekulow is a real warrior against the real enemy of our country. Thanks G-d that we still have men like this in America. All is not lost - yet.
Jay Sekulow does it again. Love the ability to listen while I drive. Love how I can re-listen to certain pieces. Everybody needs to listen to this. I have my grandchildren listen with me. They ask me to place it on long drives.
Impressive look into something that many, if not most, just take for granted everyday and feel frustrated or helpless that it can't be changed. We can, should and need to now! Enlightening, informative and we'll worth the read. Read and passed on to others stipulating they pass on after reading. The information in this book needs to be addressed if we're going to continue to be a free naton. But not a radical, overthrow ideology. Yet thought provoking with solid facts to back information . Knowledgeable, confident writer too!
