I bought this book for my husband who is a follower and fan of IJustine. He has never read a book besides the bible in the almost 4 years we've been married. He loves the book and we have read parts together and he keeps me updated on the book and it's written very well. I like the fact that she digs deep into her life experiences and how she got to where she is now! I recommend this book for everyone who just loves to read and for her followers and fellow you tubers and gamers!
Not a huge follower of IJ, but i really enjoyed the technology coming of age story. It the tone is very engaging and a delight to read. I recognized so many of the other names mentioned in passing. I read it quickly, which is always a sign of a good book - i don't put it down when i should be doing other things.
Even for those who may not fall into the demographic of her fan base, this is one woman's upbeat and engaging first person account of experiencing the tech and social media boom. It's not a heavy read, just an engaging peek into a world so many people still find perplexing and difficult to understand. I like the conclusions she drew looking back on her rise to fame and what it all means to her, and also appreciate having a sort of tidy, insider-POV timeline of Internet pop culture in the age of YouTube.
I loved reading Justine's book. It was nostalgic and inspiring, but also funny! From watching her on YouTube, I'd have never guess some of the things she talks about in her book and that typical goofy demeanor of Justine is often replaced by the words of a hardworking and business-minded young woman- something I didn't expect. If you've followed iJustine through the years or are interested in getting to know the life a successful YouTube star, give it a read.
A wonderful read! This memoir is a fantastic look into the world of the digital age. It showcases one person's personal story of growing up with a fascination of the tech world, and her journey to immerse herself completely in that world. As a fellow tech lover, I responded to this story immediately. It also does a wonderful job of showcasing the transition from childhood to adulthood. If you want an inspiring tale of the pursuit of dreams, and how doing whatever it is you are most passionate about in life can turn into something spectacular, then I, Justine: An Analog Memoir is the book for you!
I've been following Justine's work since the iPhone Bill video in 2007. It was so much fun reading this book and remembering what I was doing and what was happening in my life when each video she wrote about was first posted. There are a few things that happened that she hasn't spoken about until now, so it was cool getting to read about some of the events that were left out of her YouTube videos.
I, Justine serves to provide an inside look at the YouTube life-casting machine that is Justine Ezarik. Followers of Justine's various YouTube channels will find the book filled with interesting stories of how Justine got her start in the Internet-world, along with hilarious asides concerning her various adventures in vlogging. I highly recommend this short, entertaining read!
interesting bio of a social media phenom. as a casual follower of Justine's brand of humor I found her story enlightening. It's easy to assume someone who is in the spotlight as much as she is would be rolling in the dough but it is clear that she struggles like the rest of us.She appears amazingly humble at the same time.
