Unlike the Schirmer Edition of Die Zauberflote, this score only offers the English dialogue, which shortens it to 5 actors, rather than the original German, which has more (actors auditioning for the play, etc). The dialogue is O.K. - seems like a high-school comedy. The price, however, is definitely cheaper than a Barenreiter, if you're just looking for the printed music, which is printed in both English AND German.
Though the English version is very cute, it has almost nothing to do with the original German, which is very very funny. I don't see the reason to change the story and omit half the characters. This is ok. It's a good show, but I've seen better English versions that are equally, if not more funny, and truer to what Mozart intended.
Just as advertised- arrived with no bends scratches or dog ears.
