This book contains almost all of Schumann's major early works including Davidsbundlertanze, Carnaval, Kreisleriana, Kinderszersen, Toccata, Fantasiestuke, Papillions, and Abegg variations. (every important work from opus 1-19 except the fantasy in C major and the Symphonic etudes. These are in volume III.)Schumann's music is at the very heart of the piano repertoire. It is supremely beautiful and pianistic. Every pianist should have the complete ouerve of Schumann. The book is in marvelous condition. The binding lays flat easily, the notes are printed clear, and the editing is unobtrusive (Clara's editing represents what the composer wanted). This book contains hours of music! It is certainly the greatest value! To buy all these pieces independently from, say, Henle would cost about $200!
A very comprehensive edition(of 3 total), as always with dover, very good printing and binding, opaque paper, and edited by clara schumann. This is a VERY good value on an entire repertoire of music. Probably one of Dover's best printings.
Quickly delivered to my door and contains a good range of Schumann's pieces. However, the "lay flat" binding does not work and it's pretty frustrating. However, if you just make copies of the music for easy page turns, it works just fine.
great
