The book describes the details of the century – old conflict between the Arab emirates, which later became the UAE, and Iran over Abu Musa and Tunb islands in the Persian Gulf based on the earliest sources. It does not try to determine which country has right to the islands, nor does it offer any legal opinion on the matter. It narrates the historical facts as described by the British archives. It does, however, offer a rebuttal of arguments embraced by some sources that contradict the historical facts as presented by the archives. In the process of telling the story of the quarrel, the book takes the reader on a journey into the turbulent history of the region.
