Case Studies In Special Education Law: No Child Left Behind Act And Individuals With Disabilities Education Improvement Act

Eighteen case studies capture important issues within the IDEA and NCLB legislations and provide real-life context for studying special education and the law. Topics include accountability; participation in high stakes assessment; the referral and prereferral process; zero reject, child find and discipline; nondiscriminatory assessment; appropriate education and IEPs; least restrictive environment; due process; and parent participation. Readers will see a variety of students, issues and interventions (both best practice and less than best practice) and have opportunities to examine the legal issues and other issues behind each case.

I'm taking courses to becom a diag. This book is very helpful. Case Studies in Special Education Law: No Child Left Behind Act and Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act is a great resource to have.

The book was a helpful addition. It presents useful case studies for review and it is a quick and easy read.

The text is fine. It wasnt my choice-it is my professor's choice. The book was reasonable priced. It is very short, that's all.

I bought this for my class, and to be honest I have wondered while reading it, how true these stories are. Good examples I suppose in order to prepare me for being a special ed teacher, just seems a little watered down at times, or clearly biased in some way.

I needed this book for class. It was reasonably priced and arrived quickly.
