Este hermosisimo libro, esta lleno de imagenes espectaculares y que, al mismo tiempo, le dejan espacio a la imaginacion. Me encanta fantasear con mi niña sobre todas las cosas maravillosas que realmente pasaron cuando ella llego a nuestras vidas. Lo mejor del libro es que cada padre, le encontrara un significado personal y diferente. Y lo convertira en algo escrito especialmente para su hijo. El texto es muy conmovedor y siempre sientes que esta escrito especialmente para ti. Es de esos libros que uno se llevaria a una isla desierta sin lugar a dudas.

We received the Board book edition of On the Day you Were Born as a gift from a friend who visited our daughter at the hospital when she was born. We read it to our newborn daughter right away and it was such a precious moment. It is a beautiful message of how we are connected to nature and how the world and its inhabitants celebrate the arrival of a little one.We have turned reading this on our daughter's birthday into a family tradition and because we are a bilingual family I really wanted to have the Spanish version. Sadly it is not in print anymore but I was happy to find a used paperback in good shape. I wish it was a hardcover but unfortunately most books translated to Spanish come only in paperback (c'mon book publishers, get with the times!)As a native Spanish speaker I am quite critical about translations and was delighted to find that this was such a well-done translation. Furthermore, I was surprised to find that the paperback version has an additional section in the back of the book explaining the specific concepts about the earth, the environment, and nature (migration, rotation of the earth, gravity, phases of the moon, constellations, tides, water cycle, the role of plants in photosynthesis, the atmosphere and even racial differences)! Perfect for our now 4 year old who has so many questions about each page.

Un cuento infantil hermoso que aplica también a adultos. Es hasta como un libro de auto ayuda que ayuda a aumentar la autoestima de todos. UNA BELLEZA. Lo recomiendo a todos
