This is a great anthology! It has a wide variety of authors and a great selection of plays. The footnotes are very helpful (especially when reading Shakespeare). There also introductions to each author to help you get a better grasp. If you read alot of plays you probably want to get the full anthology but this is perfect for anyone who just wants a good collection of plays!
This book was indeed the shorter edition, but it included all necessary plays in a very comprehensible fashion. It also is a very cost-efficient compact book. Strongly recommend.
Lots of plays and playwright information contained in one book. Pages are like bible-thin however. Paperback gets torn up...like most.
I bought used and it was not in very good condition. Otherwise, this book is used all the time in my theatre history classes and it is very informative. I just wish I bought new
Just got thins wook for a drama call. That goodness for spark notes that helped me understand what was going on but I was lost.
It wasn't the best book on earth, but I had to have this as a textbook for Theatre Class and it was just play after play.
This book had every thing you need from really great shown books and plays and scripts to the greatest. Worth the money.
