Very knowledgeable writer of the current history and various groups/players involved in modern Syria through 2013. Does not cover the crossing of Obama's red line though it mentions chemical weapons and Obama establishing the red line. The Russian influence is not covered in-depth though the inability of America to influence events there is definitely stated well. A good primer on modern-day events in Syria.
A great read that gives a context of the Syrian revolution-cum-civil war. Better for policy analysts than academics, though. Highly recommended.
Another misleading western text which pretends the war on Syria was a civil war' or a 'popular uprising', ignoring the NATO-GCC sponsorship of the extremists. Reduction to supposed indigenous sectarian conflict regional rivalries. Very little of the hegemonic plan and the proxy armies involved in this dirty war.
