go read the glowing reviews on the Norton Shakespeare's older edition's page, and know that all those glories still reside herein with the 3rd edition, 2015. sadly its the same with the negative(s): thin paper allows you to see text on the reverse page at some points, and resting on the page (as you will, hovering over a tome this size) leads to easy tears and rips. other than that its exactly the same as the 2nd edition (sans a few updated footnotes that reference the Digital Edition's additional appendices).additions: the slipcase is nice but it BEGS to have a sewn-in ribbon (book marker), and this labour of love seems bare without it. it's an easy enough addition to sew one in yourself but I could swear my 2nd edition in college had one already.other than that you can buy comfortably knowing this is still the one book for our Bard.
A great edition of Shakespeare's collected works. It's a humongous and weighty book but one of the few purchases that I truly treasure. As a Shakespeare skeptical when I first bought it, I am transformed and a lover of Shakespeare now (although my university professor might have something to do with that). I am sure I will always be drawn back to this edition later down the years of my life.Highly recommend this wonderful edition!
I bought this item for my fiance because she loves Shakespeare (she's an English major) and has wanted this edition for quite a while since she saw it at Barnes & Noble. The good thing is that it is much cheaper here on , and it is the exact same edition that she saw at Barnes and Noble. She loved it.
This met all my expectations and requirements for a class I am taking - but be prepared for the heft! It might be a challenge if you have to carry it very far.
