It is a perfect book for studying the piece. I would prefer to have the english translation below the italian text. Since the transaltion isn't a word for word-translation, sometimes it makes up it's own story, best of all would be not to have the english words at all, but I couldn't find any version of "Il trittico" in italian language only.

A great buy- contains Il Tabarro, Gianni Schicchi and Suor Angelica, Italian with English translations. The music is pretty clear and easy to read. Only serious qualm is that some of the English text looks very messy- it seems to be put in with typewriter above the Italian with a different and strange font. It would be a bit difficult to read- however, I really only need the Italian, so it's not a big problem! In any case, I would still recommend this to anyone needing more than one of these operas, and I am very pleased!

Overall, I'm very pleased with what I got, especially for the price at which I bought it. I basically got three operas for the price I would normally pay for one. This is overall a good edition, with both the original Italian and and the English translation above it. There is a short synopsis before each opera. Occasionally the print looks a little splotchy, and there are a few spots where the syllables don't line up with the notes to which they correspond. Also, the English "translation" is very loose, but serves its purpose. Again though, overall I'm pleased and none of the imperfections get in the way of performance.

I am extremely pleased with this purchase, specifically its price. At rehearsal I discovered that my castmates who purchased this score elsewhere spent from $5 to $10 more (excluding shipping and taxes). My score shipped within one week, and that with me printing out the order form and mailing payment to .This is the exact score that my company required and, as in the past, I will continue to make my first source for all scores.
