This is the piano/vocal score. Ricordi, looks to be now owned by Universal, and has re-issued this score, and I am sure others, with changes to continue to make a profit on music that is most likely in public domain. However this latest edition is like a Schirmer score but about 50% more expensive. First of all why is the English translation on the top line? No opera company, or even conservatories, that do a production of "Fanciulla" will do it in English. The Italian is in hard to read italics on thebottom line and additional editor's musical notes are added all over to accomodate for the English text that, are most definitely NOT Puccini. Also distracting, for example, the character Jack Rance is noted in his score as "Jack Rance", "Rance" , "J.Rance" ...This lack uniformity in a so called professional text, is just laziness. I suggest one find a Ricordi (non Universal) score in Italian only... this one is annoying.

These reviews seem to be about the opera ... not about this product. Well enough. Although one wonders why at this point in time it is necessary for random customers to review Puccini's opera. This product, however, is only a libretto. It is returned when you search for a vocal score of the opera. The delivery time is agonizingly long, and the product is nowhere accurately or fairly described. It is just a small paperback printing of the words. However, it is without question one of the worst of this type of product. There is no standard opposing columns or pages with the original Italian and the translated English. Instead, the English is just jumbled in with the Italian. It is just riven with typos ... often a dozen or more a page. This is a worthless product, a waste of the paper it is printed on.
