La periferia como representacion del "capitalismo tardio" del Occidente finisecular constituye el marco historico de este proyecto. La periferia pasa a ser, dentro de este contexto economico e historico, un lugar estrategico para el capitalismo tardio global en fase de formacion. Dividido en dos partes, la primera propone analizar la visibilidad a posteriori de este imperativo, utilizar una recien adquirida perspectiva historica para observar los productos de este proceso de fijacion significativa. La segunda parte se ocupara de la rehabilitacion o reutilizacion del concepto de periferia. Una vez el concepto de la periferia pasa a considerarse como caduco, es posible reciclarlo y reutilizarlo, de modo que resolucion prepositiva "alrededor de" pase a ser una proposicion teorica que otorgue nuevos significados al concepto y que explore sus posibilidades.
