This is one of Rogers and Hammerstein's greatest musicals of all time! It contains a history of the show, history of the composers, even those who starred in the show. It's a great book on the history of the show as well as the musical examples! This book is a must have for any serious musical theater person!
You are getting what you pay for. While this might be a decent buy for a hobbyist, it is not much use if you are a professional because several pieces (if not all of them) are not in the original key. Moreover, the keys the songs have been transposed to actually make them more difficult to sing.
I watched this musical when I was young and loved it. I have been looking for the complete music sheets for this and I am so happy to find it now. Having the story included in this book is a bonus.
