The work of this great photographer remains an important study now for anyone accepting the challenge and the joy of photography in Mexico. I focus (so to speak, and often not) on the border strip, Ciudad Juarez and her turmoil and triumphs, and northern Chihuahua state, including cooperative Indian children (Raramuri or Tarahumara) and find this work a source of great courage and compositional model. Just do it. Great book and landmark, excellent artist with light who came to me highly recommended and whom I now recommend to you, and to anyone at any level entering Mexico with photographic equipment, or a cell phone, from the professional photojournalist, to the academic historian and the Hawaii shirted tourist to take along with their old crumbling copy of the Hitch'hiker's Guide to Mexico, bearing ethnographic visionsalso looks just great out on your coffeetable with the other stuff
