For an company that has published wonderful editions of Chopin and Bach, this edition of Rachmaninoff, Selected Works, has not been carefully edited. There is a major flaw in Polichinelle--there may be others in the other pieces, I have not looked. As soon as I discovered the error, I wrote the company, but they never responded. If you can live with an edition that is not perfect, then look for the errors, correct them, but why settle for this? In the meanwhile, stick with Schirmer's edition.
Comes with a few paragraphs for each piece which give some performance notes. For the popular Prelude in C#, comes with the two versions of the first 13 measures: one for pianos without sostenuto and one for pianos with it. Shows the sostenuto pedal markings. Very convenient. All other pieces have full pedal notation -- and it is clearly stated that the pedal notation is a starting off point for learning, but they should be eschewed in favor of your own interpretation and environment.I bought the "collectible" version from imagine-this which has comb binding. It costed a little bit more but it was totally worth it for the ease of page turning.
The music is clearly printed and in large font, so it's easy to follow. It also comes with fingering and other notations such as when to press the pedal. Easy to read, yet difficult to play!
