Some even said, because of the height of the person, that it could have been a woman.’ ‘In July, 2007, a backpack with the missing woman’s possessions inside was found in a canal about twenty minutes from where her truck had been found the year before. There is no connecting body of water between the two places. Her gun was not inside it. Where was her gun and where was she?’‘‘I was out searching for her the from very beginning, and I came across a street girl who I asked if she’d ever seen my daughter. She said no then reached for a cross around her neck and kissed it and she said she will help find her. The next thing I knew the police called and asked me for my daughter’s dental records because they said they’d found a female body. It wasn’t my daughter; it was the same girl I’d spoken with who’d kissed her cross. She was killed and dumped’In June 2011, a church group set off on a gentle hike to the Upper Yosemite Falls in the Yosemite National Park. One of the group never returned home. He had reached the summit with the rest of the group when they had spread out to take in the views. A two week long search began. The Park Service found no trace of the man; no evidence that could explain what could have happened to him. Park rangers found absolutely no clues. Tracker dogs formed part of the search group, along with two helicopters and the searchers covered a 70 square mile radius looking for him. This book has incredible and unexplained cases that are all true. So fascinating I couldn't put it down. I've always had an insatiable interest in these type of mysteries and the author David McGown did not disappoint. Can't wait to read the 2nd and 3rd books!
Great book overall. I love mystery stories so this was the perfect fit for me. However, the context and stories are still very interesting, so I suggest sitting down on a rainy day and reading this ebook. Very interesting read, gave me some great stories and insight about these types of happenings. Overall, great book that I would recommend to all!
This book is full of spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors. It is also very badly written. The author frequently switches tenses and lays out the sequence of events in a confusing, almost unreadable manner.
Very good read the author kept you in suspense it is sad though for the loved ones left behind good book
Barely edited, garbled writing. Tons of incorrect information. In one case, didn't even give the last name of the missing person, and continually misspelled her name. I only made it about halfway through; learn from my misery and don't bother.
I rarely write reviews; but, I do read them to decide if a book is worth reading. I'm only only halfway through this book yet feel compelled to write an honest review.These are all cases I have seen on Discovery ID's show Disappeared and/or have done further research online intrigued by the mysteries surrounding these cases. In my opinion, there's a great deal of potential in this book that the author simply ignored. Perhaps the author should stick to fiction where he will do less damage to the victims and their families!!Reading Ebooks it is frequent to find misspelled words that I try to ignore. Apparently proofreading is truly a lost art! In this book there are so many errors that it negatively affects the very cases depicted. The author should feel deep shame in muddying up details of cases already plaqued with unknowns.Misspelled words I can ignore. What can't be ignored in this book is the very few facts known in these cases being mixed up or flat out wrong!!! If you can't do the appropriate research for each of these short descriptions on each case then you SHOULD NOT be writing books!!!!These people are still missing. Their families forever destroyed and haunted by the unknown. Getting the details wrong and mixing up who the author is even talking about while putting the information forward as fact is UNFORGIVABLE!!!If any friends or family members of any of the victims in these cases reads this please know your outrage at such errors are shared by myself and others that do know the true facts. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you as well as the victims.**This "work" is simply SHAMEFUL!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ANYONE!!!**
It is not a daily thing to sit and wonder about, such things, but it does make for interesting reading . Until you do, you don't realize how often it happens.
I think I speak for everyone who reads the books this guy spews out when I say, it is only out of convenience of being able to quickly scan multiple cases, on a subject we find interesting, in one place, then google those we deem most intriguing for the actual facts and information. It is certainly not for the writing. Not even going to go into details on the horror show, but I will say that you can pinpoint the sentences and words he didn't simply copy and paste because they will not be grammatically correct in any way. Props to Dave for making a living as an author despite the fact that he has never taken a single English class ever in his entire life. *slow clap*
