I was hesitant to purchase this book because I could not find any information about the author online. I thought there might be a biography somewhere in the book, but I was wrong. I still have no idea who this author is. If the book had been thoroughly researched, well referenced, and professionally edited, then I would not be so concerned with the author's credibility. However, it reads like it was translated from a foreign language with Google Translate; it does not contain a single citation or reference to any credible source; and I'm quite certain it's self-published. If you want to learn about ISIS, there are plenty of credible terrorism experts who regularly publish articles and blog posts on the subject. Don't waste your money on this book.
I like this little book very much because it helped with some understanding of what I hear and read on the news daily. I have a better understanding of what is going on in the Middle East and who is actually involved now. This recent terrorist bandits are so very radical and if anyone thinks they do not affect the USA, best get informed and wake up to the fact these groups are trying to control everybody that is not one of their own. The innocents are the ones they seem to attack. I would recommend this to anyone who is in tuned to world events. My copy came from and was downloaded onto my Kindle..
The book was a good short narrative of ISIS. There is not much of any critical analysis, but is more of a timeline with crucial information. All in all the book serves as an easy to read crash course that is much needed at this time.
The author has done a great job with this book. I have heard a lot about isis on the news, but I never actually went out and bought a book to read more into it. This book has taught me so much. This book speaks the truth and it's crazy to me how these people live everyday and the things thy do. I now fully understand more about isis than what the news just tells us. This is a great book and it is full of information. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a good educational book.
IT had lists of much of the rotten -barbaric actions of the ISIS/ISIL legions.,Their Gruesome mass murders even of helpless civilians .BUT it did NOT deal with the origins of ISIS and their mid-east breeding grounds spawned by wars of plunder of 'Great Power'plunder, expansions, and domination , and lackey -puppet regimes ,which is a key to comprehending this bloody soil, cauldrons of real hell facingmore of the world .
This was really informational for someone like me who is looking for answers about why and how they do it. ISIS is really haunting and scaring me. They tend to kill innocent people serving for their satisfaction. The book's content was concentrated on the crucial part of the subject. It's basically a bundle of knowledge for us to educate ourselves about that organization. It tells the harsh truth and their intention with what they're causing. Anyways, Kudos to the author who had in mind to publish a great book.
I was motivated to learn more about ISIS recently because of all of the non stop news on TV/online and how I've been hearing about the group in my social circle. Although the subject of injustice and innocent lives being targeted is important to me I didn't feel comfortable enough to raise my thoughts and opinions up without knowing enough about the organization and it's history first. I feel now I have a more clear understanding of what is going on in this part of the world and who really is involved in the conflict - I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a clear understanding of the group and their agenda.
This ebook gives you some good background information about ISIS and terrorist attacks. The author put it together well. You could probably find some of it on the news, but having it all organized in a nice ebook like this helps.
