This book is absolutely beautiful, from the thick luxurious pages, which are a pleasure to turn, to the mesmerizing geometric patterns on each page. The book invites the reader to be swept up in the love-filled ecstasy of Rumi, in a very fluid translation, void of punctuation or capitalization. For those who want to build a deeper understanding of Rumi and his historical context, the book lacks a forward or introduction, and left me wondering about why these particular poems were chosen and the intention of the translator.This book would make a beautiful gift for a loved one and the short poems are conducive to reading aloud together with a partner.
Beautiful little book for the coffee table. This small volume of translated Rumi love poems would make a lovely gift for a Valentine that enjoys Rumi poems. Pages are beautifully layered with intricate prints and patterns and are a visual feast for the eyes.
This is a beautiful book that I am proud to display on the end table in my living room. The color of the cover and the large lettering of RUMI are just the ticket.
