If you ask me, the real "nightmare" was trying to read this doggone book without wanting to throw the Kindle across the room! The only saving grace of this book? It wasn't too expensive. If I had paid more than $10 for this insipid tripe, then I really would be angry for having my money and time wasted. Now, I won't sugar coat the truth here. This book sucks! When it comes to slipshod work, this book is probably one of the worst books I have ever read. Seriously, my 8 year old grandson could've written a more interesting and better quality book. This book is riddled with grammatical errors and misspelled words. It was very distracting to the point to where it renders the book unreadable. Ok, so English isn't the author's first language, but for goodness sake, hire a decent interpreter and then hire a proofreader to proofread the work BEFORE publication. Don't rely on spell check. No excuses. In terms of actual content, it's pretty lame and self-indulgent. I get it that autobios/memoirs are about the person, but even then one should avoid devolving into self-pity when writing. It's just pathetic. It's obvious that the author wrote this book because she is desperate for sympathy, money or both. Quite frankly, I found her relentless 'victim' stance annoying. She overdoes it on the hyperbole, and as a result she is unconvincing. She didn't move me to feel the least bit sorry for her. Sure, the husband sounds like he was a violent narcissistic 'mama's boy', and the cliquish family does sound like they had it out for her, but to me the author was just straight up stupid. Anyone with half a brain knows that in Saudi Arabia, women have absolutely no rights at all. Why can't she take some personal responsibility for her choices?
