What's That Sound?: An Introduction To Rock And Its History (Fourth Edition)

The music―front and center. The leading text in the market, What’s That Sound? strengthens students’ listening skills and deepens their understanding of rock, first and foremost, as music. New listening guides and author videos reinforce this classic strength, while also providing additional historical and cultural context that allows students to make connections between the music and the times.

Best class I've ever taken really. I'm glad this book could accompany the experience and inform me further in musical knowledge! It was in great shape when I rented it. Still is!

one day we will actually have school books that are reasonably priced.the content is pretty interesting, some of the song analysis is not very detailed, for the most part this can all be found online fairly easily. but the book provides a good outline for it.

I am in a class with the author of the text. He is very good and the book is well written and clear. I like a text with white space. Not jammed page after page with 10 point text.

The book is exactly what i needed. But a few pages from to book are falling out. I hope to let you know right away. As i barely recieves the book yesterday. Thank You

The book is very unclear in explaining concepts and has tons of random information that just confuses me.

Wow, we received a practically brand new book for our rental and saved a good chunk of cash over buying new. Thanks for having this option!

Great insight to the history of rock music. Really enjoyed the pictures too.

I got this book for a class in rock and roll. I enjoyed it as well.
