These Ricordi cloth-bound editions are the most well-bound vocal scores I own. In comparison to the soft-cover editions of these operas, these cloth-bound ones actually stay flat on the piano, and have withstood daily wear and tear surprisingly well. This is the best edition to get of the great Italian standards (except for Mozart!), so be sure to get the cloth-bound—it's well worth the small difference in price!
I was stunned at the quality of its cloth cover. But the inside dissapointed me quite a bit. The Ink used to print this book is not uniformily applied throughout the book, so there are places where the ink is black and some others gray.
The score I ordered was exactly in the condition that was promised. The Ricordi score is all in Italian with no translation. The only thing I don't like as much with the Ricordi score, as compared to the Schirmer, is that there aren't very many divisions between sections. What might appear as 4 separate numbers in Schirmer is all run together in one in the Ricordi.Shipping was prompt. Recommend this seller.
The cover is very beatiful. the vocal score contains: the original italian text, alternative cadenzas (written by verdi), the piano reduction, chorus. The quality printing not is the best, if you ask me the perfect size for this score is the letter, yet with this little things is the best edition for the singers.
I like the edition musically. The printing of the music and text is a bit blurry at times. And the score will not stay open on the music stand. If you are a singer no need to fret about this. If you are a pianist get another score. It has been a nightmare keeping it open during rehearsals.
