Enjoy, If you want to read the story of Someone who killed thousand of people, this man was capable to divide the Venezuelans in 2 sides (The opposition: A.K.A: "Majunches", "Escualidos", "Pitiyankees (Little Yankees)" and their supporters, fed with hate and irrational dispute between the poor population and those who at least have something (not only the rich people), giving to they enough courage to them to hate. When I was young I remembered that I played in the streets with the neighbors, and many of them were poorer than me, and no matter how much money they had, no matter where were you from (or your parents), we were able to share the same place to play and enjoy not taking in consideration if they were rich or Poor. Hugo Chavez changed it, giving to the poor courage to envy and hate those who had more luck than them, feeding with hate those people, dividing families, dividing friendships and even relationships broken and divorces thanks to him.As Venezuelan, I can said, this Mr was capable to ruin a wealth country like Venezuela, during this presidential period the barrel of oil was around (And even above) the 100$ margin, when so many Venezuelans lives in poverty, without enough food to buy in the supermarket, or medicines in the drugstores. This Sr made the impossible, ruin a country like Venezuela due to his conspiration theory and the Castro Family support. Kidnapping the private companies, and nationalizing everything on his sight, now Venezuela entirely depends on importations due to the chain of terrible choices made by this Sr.Anyway, Freedom of Speech, (In Venezuela this words mean nothing), so if you have enough courage to buy and read the story of a postmodern dictator, enjoy.

Ramonet shows us the human side of el comandante. It show us his roots and it is easy to understand why Chavez became such charismatic leader. Furthermore, Ramonet brings down the myth and stereotype created Chavez's opponents, of an 'ignorant military gorilla'. Great read and insightful. Thank you Ignacio Ramonet.

love the book love the man he will be in all of us the love equality peace rights not the BS that our politicians are telling us

Interesting, another point of view...

Well written story that brings a different light not only about Chavez's life and purposes, but about the new realities of the continent as a whole. A must read for those would like to revive the ideas of our independence heroes. Thanks to Ignacio Ramonet!!
