A split second description of the assassination of President Kennedy and the killing of Officer Tippit, based on the acoustic recording, photos, videos, expert witnesses, affidavits by witnesses and time-line analysis. Why it's easy to demonstrate, the evidence given to the Warren Commission by members of the Dallas police, was all created. There are 44 photos and illustrations in, 'Ambush in Dealey Plaza'. Not much new info, but a good compilation of data from lots of reputable sources. I'm not sure that I agree with every point made, but it is very clear that the "lone Commie nut" story is completely unbelievable. It's worth a read. There are some annoyances. This book evidently was neither edited nor proof read. The grammar was sketchy, there were at least 3 times too many commas, some of the passages were repeated two to four times, etc. In one passage he writes "the evidence was excepted". He quickly explains that the red bullet path on the cover shows an incorrect angle. There are several hundred awkward places that should have been caught by an editor. All that aside, it is a valuable collection of lots of other people's work. I don't normally comment on sloppiness in books but this one is really "special".

Always been interested in what actually happened to JFK that day, the WHO, and WHY of his killing. And it's clear to me that it was a big coverup, and people in high places, people the American people elected to protect and look out for our well being were only looking out for themselves that day. He wasn't perfect, but he was good enough to scare someone into taking this action. And his brother suffering the same fate because he was collecting data about that day to use in case he got to a high enough office to make something happen.

This is yet another book on the JFK Assassination that is very interesting. Most of the information contained in this book can be found in many of the other books written about this event. The one interesting claim presented here is that the fatal shot came from the "overflow drain" along Elm Street. I recently visited Dealey Plaza to review this very claim among others. I spoke with two investigators at the site who both informed me that a shot from that location has been proven to have been impossible. They both said that investigators had gone into the drain and noticed that from that location, they could not have seen Kennedy in the car and would not have been able to get a clear shot. One investigator also stated that the drain as it appears today has been enlarged and was much smaller in 1963. Photos appear to confirm this claim. I will point out that both the investigators I spoke with believe the assignation was a conspiracy. I did not go into the drain myself. I should have, because having said all this, I agree with the author. The fatal shot had to have come from the overflow drain based on the Zapruder film. There are other authors making this same claim and I believe them to be correct. I believe this is why President Kennedy's brain cannot be found to this day. It would prove where that fatal shot came from. Perhaps the most interesting part of the book is how the author points out the many ridiculous things that Oswald is supposed to have done, all of which incriminate him for the assassination. It screams set up and the author presents it very well. I recommend this book to all JFK Assassination readers as a very good summary of some of the issues surrounding this event. It should, however, be one of many books read to gain a full picture.

I wish I could have more confidence in the accuracy of the data that this book provides. I didn't feel that the author provided enough information on how and from where he got his facts. In addition, his terrible punctuation absolutely destroyed the rhythm of the prose.

I have to start by saying that I actually enjoyed this book. Mr. Murdoch has a clearly defined view of the assassination and makes a thoughtful case for it. I am not ready to actually buy into it, at this point, but much of what he has to say is thought provoking. Now, having said that, I have to add that this book didn't appear to have been proofread or worked on by a professional editor at any time. There are numerous misspellings (for example, WC attorney David Belin is consistently referred to as David Belan [sic].) There are no references, nor any footnotes. The writing is fast-paced, in some cases breathless -- almost like a tabloid. Sometimes it's just plain fractured. For example, early in the book there is a paragraph that states that "most of us, now, believe ..." in the Conspiracy Theory; yet in the very next paragraph he states that the book was written " ... for the majority who have been fooled ... and still believe he [Oswald] shot the President." So, let me get this straight: Although most of us believe in a Conspiracy Theory, the majority still think Oswald did it. Huh? (Actually, that *could* make sense -- i.e. most people could think that Oswald did it, but was not alone. However, in reading the book, I feel confident in saying that this is not Mr. Murdoch's intent, as he clearly says his goal is to exonerate LHO. So, that leaves the two paragraphs to be as confusing as they sound at first reading.) And, lastly, the punctuation is consistently confusing. (I'm not sure you can always call it wrong ... just, well, confusing.)Still, I'm glad I read this book and would recommend it, warts and all, as a light yet interesting JFK assassination read.

To anyone who has ever shot a firearm, the details described, affirm the first impression that Kennedy's killer was in front of him and that there had to be more than one shooter. The details are reasonably dispassionate are logically presented. The political background positions the assassination reasonably. This book is written and edited better than some others of similar thrust.
