This is an excellent book but it covers Sibelius 6. The current Sibelius is Sibelius 7. The training is much better than the training that came with the program. It is easy to understand. I am getting a lot out of it even though I have Sibelius 7. The conversion from 6 to 7 is easy especially if you add the plug-in "Where did it go?". As far as I can tell so far, Sibelius 6 and 7 are functionally the same. The main difference is that Sibelius 7 went to a ribbon to access functions instead of the menu approach in previous Sibelius'. The ribbon is definitely much easier to use and find functions.So, at first I was very disappointed that the book was for Sibelius 6 instead of 7 but as I have been working with it, it is a really good book. I am starting to get the hand of the program which has been nothing be confusing to me before. It starts out at the basic level and builds to more complex tasks. The best part is that it gives steps to accomplish a task. For example: "How to copy and paste" then gives 4 steps to get the job done. The book also gives tips along the way to do tasks efficiently. I have been marking notes where to find a menu item in 7 apposed to 6. I actually don't have very many notes!I do highly recommend this book.

This guide to Sibelius has proven to be a great help in my need to learn the orchestra and to be able to make piano reductions transform into orchestral arrangements . Now purchasing the actual software is the next logical step that is readily within my grasp.

I ordered this book because I could see from the previews it was just what I needed. It is written in simple, straight-forward language that's jumps right in to get you on your way to learning this program.

I really enjoy what these authors do. They helped me understand Finale, now they do the same with Sibelius. It's very well explained, and it's and easy way to learn Sibelius.
