Monika, a jeweler by trade, has been working since her divorce as a sales woman in a department store. On an all-inclusive vacation in Majorca, she meets Antonio, a widower. He shows her the island’s beauty – secluded bluffs, remote beaches, the island’s interior and the island of Cabrera. Monika is invigorated by Antonio’s presence. She decides to make a change in her life and to look for a more interesting job. Antonio isn’t indifferent to Monika either. However, when he proposes that she move to Majorca, Monika isn’t prepared to do so. Their farewell seems to be unavoidable.Eva-Maria Farohi was born in Vienna. After visiting the conservatory, she worked as an actress and painter. In 2003, she moved to Mallorca, where she lived for six years. She reflects the island’s beauty, her experiences, encounters and friendships with Mallorquins in her stories and novels. She’s been living with her husband in Austria since 2009.
