The book is Dutch and the author is Dutch. This can be noted by the nature of some of the comments by the author. If you are one to own a Mauser 98K or are interested in this ancient rifle, then this is a must book for you. Yes, the photos are great and historic. Propaganda photos they are in that they were posed, at the time, 1939-1945. However, that does not detract from the interest level of the photos. I enjoyed the book very much and only wish that it had more pages than it does.
Great starter book for collectors. Lots of intermediate level information and good pictures. Nothing like the books by Law or Ball, but good in it's own right. Price is right to add this to your library.
