There are multiple books of the Sound of Music. The version to get is 0634088343, Sound of Music Piano Play-Along, which has the words, good transcriptions and a CD play-along.
I purchased this for my daughter, who is in her first year of piano lessons. She has taken right to it, and is happily playing the music from the Sound of Music. She also loves the CD, which has helped her become more familiar with the music as it should be played on the piano.
Purchased as a gift for my 2nd mom and she loves it. Its nice to hear her play these classics and see her smile again.
I ordered this for my daughter. She's 8 years old and has only been playing piano for a year. It's hard to order music books online because you can't see what you're getting. I was so disappointed when I got it because it was much harder to read than I had expected. I definitely would not call this a beginner book. I think I'll stick to ordering books in a store where I can pick them up and look through them.
