More criticism than help. Actual instruction were very basic and not very clear.
I read through this small pocketbook in about an hour. It has a couple of tips that go beyond the information you can get online, but it is badly overpriced. It should sell for less than $10.
I purchased this book based off of the need to be able to submit a notice of disagreement.... most of the beginning of the book was to the point where i just brushed through it quickly to get to useful information.... there are only a few books written and i bought this book for it's more current than the one out there... it was ok, and helpful somewhat....
The type needs a strong magnifying glass for those of us with vision problems.
This book is tiny. About four inches in height. More like a pocket book.
Jon's work on this crucial issue for Vets can be compared to a G.P.S. guidance system on a dark, stormy night in foreign/unknown airspace - you really, really need to read/heed this publication.In fact, most Vets separating / retiring these days go through a week long program termed the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) on base/post. Through TAP you receive a ton of briefings from the VA, SBA, Dept of Labor, Job Corp and numerous other Vet Assistance organizations/programs. Along with the briefings, you receive a brief case containing a ton of agency hand-outs, checklists, books, web sites, etc.Please join me in advocating that Jon's publication should be "standard issue" with all other TAP material - nationwide, across all military installations. I just kick myself for not knowing about this book when going through TAP and making my initial VA claim - would have saved mea ton of heartbreak today going through an appeal.Jon, I congratulate you for the great/timely work - job well done. I cannot wait for your next publication!
This book is an excellent guide to help Veterans navigate the VA disability process. It is a concise and well written book that will help you understand the complex issues in easy to understand terms. More importantly, this book was written by a Veteran that has been through the VA disability process himself. It also gives hope for those that see no light at the end of the tunnel. You have to well acquainted with the concepts in this book to eliminate many years of appeals. Well worth the money!
I have to agree with the other recent reviewers (particularly the VERIFIED purchases); this book was a disappointment. I paid full retail which was approximately $25. The book doesn't even cover my hand. It's tiny. And thin. Trying not judge the book by its extremely small stature I read it anyway. Most of the book felt like a vendetta against the VA. The useful content comprised a shockingly small portion of an already tiny book.
