When discussing the topic of the SS Waffen, it is important to know as much about its history and background in the most factual way possible. Those on the wrong side of the soldiers will tell their experience with fear with this elite of elite German military group. The WW2 Waffen- SS Soldier Stories tell from the point of view of a few of the soldiers who served. As the author notes in the introduction, it was not written to praise the ideology that motivated the soldiers, but rather to recognize their bravery on the battlefield.For those who know little about the SS Waffen, they may be surprised that some of the soldiers were not German. Some came from other countries, like Leon Degrelle from the fascist party in Belgium. He did not hold back on his fascist beliefs and published his memoirs about the war. Others, like Hermann Maringgele, did not repeat much of the war to others, but documentation of his close combat awards and reports from where he was stationed speak of what he participated in.Overall, this book reminds readers the struggles of war and the horrors that were witnessed on the German side of the lines. It also showed the determination of those who fought in what they truly believed in.

This book explains a bit about the divisions of the German army during World War 2. Even though some of the names are hard to understand, it is written in an easy to follow manner. It also has information about some of the top men in the organization, and even explains how a few of them hated each other. Additionally there are details about a major movie about the war and the story surrounding it. The most haunting part of the book is the excerpts that have eyewitness accounts, which are very descriptive. I would recommend this title to fans of World War 2 history.

It was a great book with good details for each event. It included pictures so it was a great addition.I love the bite-sized chapters where you can quickly learn about the major events from World War II. Plenty of original photos as well which made it even more interesting. This book is a great way to quickly learn about the War whether you already know a lot of the history or not-you will definitely learn something!I recommend this book for students or for those who just wanted a brief history and better understanding of the World War II. This could be helpful for anyone.

The Waffen SS Soldier Stories is a collection of some of the most decorated and notable of Hitler’s elite soldiers. Most of them were commended for their bravery in fighting for what they believe in. Some have died in battle, some were sentenced to death for their war crimes, and some had lived out their lives quietly in their native land. What struck me most is Gerstein’s story because he joined the SS to expose their secrets to the world. It was like throwing out your own humanity to save others.

I can't believe how amazing and thrilling this e-book is. There is one thing i have learned and that is that if there was ever a name that instilled fear and respect, it was the name Waffen-SS (Armed-SS). I also learned that during the Second World War, these elite troops of Hitler saw action on every front except Africa. I love the specific descriptions and well detailed pictures the author displays in this book. I can hear the explosions of grenades and bullets flying by my head as i read this book. I also love how fast this e-book was digitally delivered to my kindle cloud library. I was able to read this e-book just seconds after my purchase. This book is a must buy.

I wanted to learn a little more about World War 2 that’s why I purchased it. My brother recommended this book for me. I am very happy after reading this book. The book is really exciting to read. The book is well written and keeps your attention. This book contains thrilling stories on WWII. This book allowed me to connect closer to the events in WWII. It was an interesting read and I totally enjoyed it. I recommend this book. Thanks Ryan.

Very inaccurate title. The term "Eyewitness Accounts" is a misrepresentation. I got about one third of the way through before realizing there were almost no personal eyewitness accounts from individual soldiers, only generalized third-person story telling by the author. There are many better books for one looking for personal stories told by former German SS soldiers. The series of books by Sprech Media chief among them. This book is also maddeningly in need of a editor. Grammatical errors abound and there is a lot of repetition. Did I say there is a lot of repetition? One of the funniest errors was Ryan's use of the word Calvary when describing an SS Cavalry unit. Calvary is the name of the hill of Jesus crucifixion in Jerusalem and has nothing to do with the Nazi Schutz Staffel. I have read a couple other titles by Jenkins and they were far better.

Besides the bothersome and constant grammar errors, this book is hardly a compilation of soldiers stories, it is a rehash and shortening of other books and stories by the author. I have read those other stories myself and they are much better.
