The guide provides comprehensive coverage of the flora and fauna of the region but is limited to a picture and name for each entry. The pictures are of good quality. There is none of the usual additional information such as more detailed description and habitat. That, no doubt accounts for the price difference when compared with other field guides for the area which are much more expensive. If this limited coverage meets your needs, the guide is a very good value.
The book is nice, but it has very little information. There is a paragraph or two on the natural history of Patagonia and Antarctica. Other than that there are probably hundreds of drawings of the various plants and animals of the regions. But it gives no information about them except for the names.
