A must for every developing vocal artist, this collection has BOTH books of Copland's arrangements of American songs. What beautiful accompaniments! A favorite of voice teachers! I use this with my high school singers. They love the songs, and can really develop skills studying them! Highly recommended.
You can't really go wrong with Copland. There are two song sets in this book. The piano accompaniments and attention to musical detail support the melodies beautifully, making each one unique.
Great pieces for beginning and advanced students!! Wonderful balance of slow, upbeat, and dramatic.
I own an earlier edition of book 2. It is great that they have made a combined edition!
