Krya is your typical woman…Assuming typical women work for a gorgeous, take me on the desk, no strings attached boss. Living the fantasy, she begins to use him for his body as she satisfies her needs. Well, all of her needs but one. She is starting to feel the biological clock need to settle down and her eyes are set on her boss, Paul. There is just one problem with Kyra’s happily ever after, Paul doesn’t do relationships. He has no interest in settling down. Kyra is convinced, as most of us usually are, that she can change him and continues their physical relationship. That is until Scott comes into the picture. He is Kyra’s bestfriend’s future brother in law and sexy as hell. Well, a different kind of sexy than Paul. I’m talking about the kind where you can see a white picket fence, 2.5 children, and a dog in your future. But does that mean she gives up on Paul? Is she able to caste aside her lust, because she swears that’s all it is, aside and give herself freely to Scott? Will secrets from the past come up and ruin Kyra’s chance to live house instead with Scott or just play house with Paul? How can you tell the difference between what you want and need when they are both in front of you?I think that Laurence touched on something that so many women are facing in this day and age. I’ve had many friends waste years on Mr No Commitment only to find themselves older, alone, and unhappy. Then there are friends who turned him into Mr. Cleaver. But how do you find that line? Where is the crystal ball that tells you this guy will change? Should you expect him to change? Or worse, do you even want him to?I thought this book was realistic and it definitely hits you in the feels!
I was given an ARC version in exchange for an honest review.Kyra Wilson is a head strong female, enjoying life, even her job and especially now that she is PA to many directors in the company she works for but more than that, there's a new director and he's smoking hot. The moment she sets eyes on the new director Paul Connors, there's an instant attraction between the two and he begins to flirt. The two flirt with one another and then the sparks fly, although the company frowns on inner office relationships. The two have a wild night together but Paul admits he doesn't do relationships and Kyra believes she can handle an arrangement of nothing but sex. It's a wild roller coaster with Kyra and Paul and Kyra is out shopping with her best friend Molly, looking for Molly a wedding dress. Molly has many men and they never seem to last before she's on to the next one, so her getting married takes Kyra by surprise but it seems that Molly's finance Chris is really serious about marrying Molly. While dress shopping Molly tells Kyra to try on a wedding dress, so Kyra finds one she loves and tries it on. Once she sees herself in the mirror in the wedding dress, she begins to wonder if she could settle down, get married and even have kids. It's been a life long dream but the years have crept up on her and now she realizes if she wants that dream, it's time to make her move and find the right guy. Paul continues to tell Kyra he just can't do relationships and when she asks why, he simply says "it's complicated". Every time they begin to get close and their feelings become stronger, Paul backs off and reminds Kyra he's not looking for a relationship.
