Much of Dover's publications are from older sources where the voices are designated by Soprano, alto and tenor clefs. It drives me CRAZY to have to negotiate these uncommon clefs when performing and studying.I have other Dover scores where English translations appear below the designated language. This one retains the German.....with no translations.....causing one to go to another source to determine what is being spoken/sung.Other than these "complaints" the music fulfills it's intended purpose!
Being a born and bred Scandinavian of course my English is much better than my German aber ich möchte doch sagen daß wenn man die Choralwerke JS Bachs studieren mag dann ist eine gute Kenntnis in der Deutschen Sprache eine nicht so böse Idee.
Dover does good work with scores!!!
Juan Sebastian Bach escribió 3 pasiones, la mas conocida es la de San Mateo y la de San Juan, esta obra es muy solemne, lleva el toque caracteristico de toda la musica de Bach, la representación mas grande de esta obra estuvo bajo la batuta de Felix Mendelsohn. En la obra está plasmada toda la pasión de Jesucristo según el evangelio de San Juan, valdría la pena que escucharas esta obra, No te arrepentiras!
