Essentially a military manual on shooting a M-16/AR-15 in training and combat, I highly recommend the book for a novice.

This is a great book to have, it is very informative. Its a no nonsense book (written by the Army.) It explains the inner working steps how the AR works from the time you slap a magazine in. A great explaination on sighting. Its a bit dated, but the infomation is stll great & the price was good also. Anybody that wants to know more about their AR will not go wrong buying this book.

Simple to use for the novice. It covers maintence and repairs, practice drills, and preperations for the battlefield.

Almost everything possible about the ar15 is in this book. It's well written and heavily illustrated. I highly recommend it to any ar15 owner!

This booklet by Paladin Press is a reprint of the U.S. Army Field Manual (FM) 23-9. I have not been able to determine how many changes have been applied. (To confirm that this is so use the 'Click To Look Inside Feature' and then see the Table Of Contents; in the upper right you will see 'FM 23-9'.)From what I can tell FM 23-9 (the last version being dated 3 July 1989) was replaced by FM 3-22.9 (dated April 2003). It appears that FM 3-22.9 still shows FM 23-9 as an alternate name with the naming convention (apparently) now being FM 3-22.9(FM23-9).

Just a new twist on the standard field manual. It's one of those must haves. Does contain some very technical information.
