The M4 Carbine and its variants fire 5.56 x 45mm NATO ammunition and are gas-operated, air-cooled, magazine-fed, selective fire firearms with a 4-position telescoping stock. The M4 can trace its lineage back to earlier carbine versions of the M16, all based on the original AR-15 made by ArmaLite. It is a shorter and lighter version of the M16A2 assault rifle, with selective fire options including semi-automatic and three-round burst. Used predominantly by US forces, and by many special forces around the world, this book provides an illustrated history of its design, development and operational history, including its use in Afghanistan and Iraq.

This book offers little to no new information on the M4. Worse the pictures are almost all easily found online. I could almost forgive that, but even worse than that is they are often labelled wrong or have wrong information. I expect better. If they book can't get the writing right, nor the pictures, how can it even call itself a book?
This a fantastic book packed with great photo's of the m4 carbine in action. Not only a great visual guide to the m4 platform it is also excellent historical account of the evolution of this rifle it also has a chapter with soldiers first hand accounts of the rifle in combat.
The book contains good photographs and rather updated in terms of content. However, it will even be better if this is a hard bound book as this book can be a collectible item to those who likes the rifle.
