I know this review is late appearing on ...but it isa busy, or hectic time of the year!My wife, bless her heart is the main musician in the extendedfamily I happen to have married into. Just about everyoneplays something or another. Out of 2 brothers and 2 sisters.only one is not a pianist. [The brothers are "technicians",the sisters just play.]Therefore we are all a bunch of Musos. Due to the accumulatedyears of serving music, I would recommend ANY of Cindy Berry'sarrangements. The 'What can I play on Sunday' series, or the spinoffs from that series; All available on . [Six booksspanning a year...one book per two months.]I don't think I have ever rated 5 stars before...but thesearrangements are rather special. I hope this review will helpall Musos out there in this world. Go Buy...terrific stuff!!
Beautiful, beautiful book! I have thoroughly enjoyed playing these songs for two Christmases in a row! Cindy Berry is truly a gifted pianist, and she puts out yet another stunning masterpiece collection! Most of these songs are very easy to learn and to play, but they sound complicated, which is a great combination :) The only things that I found missing in this book were the traditional carols. "The First Noel", "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen", and "Angels from the Realms of Glory" are the only three songs that would be recognized by most people. I would have liked to see more recognizable songs in this collection, but the other pieces were still beautiful!
Same review as for Book 2 - original, beautiful arrangements for developing pianist with intermediate to late intermediate ability. I will continue to use this book in years to come (I'm a teacher. . .)
I think I have almost all of the arrangements that Cindy Berry has published in this piano collection. I can't decide between her two books of Christmas arrangements which one I like best, so I am glad I bought them both! Very playable and different from other arrangements you may have played. Very classy and difficult sounding, but not too hard to play. If you are an accomplished pianist, they are almost sight readable - I needed to just practice a few measures in each piece before I could perform them.
This book was more difficult than I expected, but I probably overestimated myself. It does have good music in it and is accomplishable, just takes a little more practice.
