With his Op. 45 Hummel composed another series of dances in the year 1812 that he dedicated to the Apollosaal, the most fascinating amusement hall of Old Vienna, and a popular venue for the enlightened nobility just as for the emerging bourgeoisie. The composition includes six ''Minuets'' and six ''German Dances'' followed by ''Trios''. The ''Introduction'' in the style of a brisk march and the large style ''Coda'' offer stylistic surprises. These enjoyable musical miniatures offer an interesting glimpse into the creation history of the classical waltz and the world famous Viennese dance culture. They retain their charm as dance music to the present day. --------------------------Mit seinem Op. 45 widmete Hummel 1812 eine weitere Tanzserie dem Apollosaal, der als der faszinierendste Vergnügungstempel des alten Wien galt, und sich beim aufgeklärten Adel und dem aufstrebenden Bürgertum gleichermassen grosser Beliebtheit erfreute. Darin finden sich sechs ''Menuette'' mit ''Trios'' gefolgt von sechs ''Deutschen Tänzen'' mit ''Trios'' Besonders spannend sind die Introduction im Stil eines schnellen Marsches und die grosse ''Coda''. Die unterhaltsamen musikalischen Miniaturen sind nicht nur musikgeschichtlich interessant, weil sie einen Blick auf die Entstehung des klassischen Walzers und die weltberühmte Wiener Tanzkultur erlauben. Sie sind auch heute noch als Tanzmusik salonfähig.
