Mr. McEvoy teaches traditional knife throwing in this book as well as outlines tomahawk throwing. If you wish a more in-depth look at tomahawk throwing, I suggest you read Mr. McEvoy's other book on the subject. The author describes in detail the traditional technique as well as ways to figure out the distance at which you can throw the knife and "stick" it. He also has tales of past professionals in the sport and their own particular styles of throwing. He also talks of using throwing knives as huntsmens' tools and building a suitable outdoor target. He also shows you how to select (a) suitable knives (knife). If you wish to get the fundamentals of knife throwing down, this is the book for you.

Very good, short, easy to read book. Mc Evoy shows you the techniques for throwing a knife accurately. Reading this book will point you in the right direction. Afterwards practice, and lots of it is what is going to make you good at it. The only reason i deducted one star is because since the book was written in 1973 I believe, some of the info on Knife throwing affiliations, etc.. is outdated. Nonetheless, good, concise, and informative book.

So I bought the book in an attempt to recapture those boring summer afternoons. I also got a set of throwing knives, 8 inch long, here on . I admit that this book isn't going to throw the knives for you. I had some time where no knives would stick. I continued to read the first 3 chapters over and over again and it seemed as though I had a better chance hitting the lotto than finally sticking the knife. But the book gives you the very basic and technical devices to which you add your own personal touches. Eventually, after figuring out the physics behind the spin, the knives started to stick to my target, and now I can thrown pretty darn well. The book even goes one step further, giving you advice for long distance throwing, making targets, and axe-throwing.All in all, the book has all the information in one place, is complemented with great pictures, and can give you the know how to throw a knife. All you need to provide is a few afternoons and some patience!

The best knife and tomahawk throwing book ever written by a fine gentleman Harry McEvoy Knifemaker Extrodinair who passed in 1993.I'm proud to have had him for a friend and owner of a couple of his knives..ROTTI699

Not only does this book explain the snap , you must have to actually stick a knife and show all the fundamentals and learning secrets, but it also goes in depth for the intermediate thrower on trick throws and more advanced techniques and illustrates professionals and what they use and what they inspire. A great book for any stage of the fascinating art of knife throwing!

If you never knew about throwing knives then this book will tell you a lot about what you need to know. After reading the book, which is quick, I was able to stick a little cheap pocket knife into a palm tree.

This is a nice little book with some interesting information on knife throwing, which if you have ever tried it, is harder than you think. Filled with pictures and explanations, it covers a lot of types and sizes of knives you can learn how to properly handle before you let fly.

This is great SHTF stuff ! ! ! Get ready and get prepared ! ! ! ... Your gone to need it ! ! This is the book you need to learn how to throw a knife.. You can learn to do this in an apartment if you really want to learn to protect yourself..
