I had to get this book for an American Indian Studies class. While the material is detailed and well written, unless you're versed in legal terminology and already know something about law, it's a tough haul in that it's very difficult to interpret. But the book became easier to understand as I learned more legal terminology (e.g., adjudication, torts, fiduciary). Still, I don't think that it's easy to "breeze" through but it is thorough.
Great book by Judge Canby. Good for lawyers, judges and lay people.
VERY Useful for what I am doing for a 280 state Indian Tribe.
I found this to be a great overview of this area of the law.
