I'm early in my attempts to research Tulum, but the constant incorrect spelling of "alter" when the author means altar really turned me off of this book. I am hoping as I continue to read to find that the information is factual.
This book is embarrassing. It is not logically organized and skips around too much. It is hard to tel what is the author's amateur opinion and what has been culled from academic sources. Also, it is poorly written in that it is not grammatically correct and USA words awkwardly or incorrectly so the reader has to guess the authors intent.
