I despise Grace, and no amount of "remaking" her is going to change that. This Grace is so not believable. When Roz, Trina, or Gemma aims a gun, I believe it - it makes sense. When Grace aims a gun, all I can do is roll my eyes and silently scream, "stop trying to make this woman! It's not happening!". Every time I read her name, I cringed. And not one sex scene was read by me. Yes, just like I promised in the last Tommy book, I skipped every single sex scene. I hate everything about her. Hate. Hate. Hate. So why did I rate this story a 4? Because it takes an amazing writer to make me this "emotional" over a fictional character. And Mallory Monroe is that writer! A masterful storyteller! Also, I love Tommy Gabrini! However, and this may sound weird, I think the Tommy character is much stronger when he's a supporting character in the other books. The whole Grace-environment weakens him, which is the reason Tommy has yet to reach his full potential.With that said, the story was good. It kept me guessing until the end; however, the "heat" was missing, once again. It didn't pack that power that I feel when I read Mick, Sal, and even Reno's story. Reno and Trina may have done and seen it all, but their books still have an excitement to them. Never the case with Tommy's story except for that one and only Liz book.Also, was Tommy the lead in this story or Grace? It felt like this book was more about showcasing Grace and her "transformation". Tommy was a bit dumb-downed in this story. He is way too smart to not put two and two together after that second death. If this was a Mick story, it would have ended in chapter 4 because he would have shot, stabbed, chopped, and broken every bone of everyone that crossed him.
