Like all the other books in the Harry Potter series, this book is well written and entertaining. While I can't speak about the quality of the translation (I'm not particularly proficient in Spanish yet), this book has proved useful in helping me to learn Spanish due to the fact that it is geared towards a younger audience and thus for the most part has a fairly simple vocabulary.
Definitivamente mi favorito de los seis. Es, a mi parecer, el climax de la serie completa: cuando te enteras de cosas, cosas, y más cosas. Cuando todo -o bueno, "todo" con Rowling es como al 15% de el real "todo"- hace click. Es cuando Harry pasa de ser un niño, a un adolescente. Me es imposible expresarlo mejor, porque de esa manera terminaría en un mes, pero léanlo y suerte.
after reading all the Harry Potter books in english wich i enjoyed extreamly, was looking forward to find how much fun would it be to read them in spanish (my first language) also. i'm so desapointed with this "dictionary" translation, the book lacks feeling, fluidity, i find it choppy and to my amaizment was to find SO many gramar incorrectness in the book, this translation shows no real effort to capture the spirit of the caracters. it's a shame that the translators did not take advantages of all the posibilities that such a great language as spanish offers to give this book the same feeling and fun to read as the english versions.
English is my first language and as an adult I love reading the Harry Potter books. Because I'm learning Spanish, who better to practice on than Harry?! The book arrived in excellent condition and very quickly. Quite pleased with my purchase experience.
The third Harry Potter book is awesome. The author really lets the characters evolve and be more real than the previous two books. She lets them have more emotional depth and it's great.The translation, however, is not that great. There are parts where I simply do no understand why the translators chose one word instead of some other, much better, alternative.I agree with the first reviewer. The Spanish language can lend itself really well to certain things, and children's literature is definitely one of them. This translation could have been so different. There was such potential and it was just completely ignored.Here's an example:The title of the first chapter is "Lechuzas Mensajares," which means "Messenger Owls." The title of the first chapter in the English book is "Owl Post." I simply don't understand why the translators didn't translate it as "Correo de Lechuza" or even a less grammatically correct "Lechuza Correo" or any other variant of the two words.It really is a good book, it's just sad the translation doesn't do it justice. The publishers really should retranslate it.
Well I'm studying Spanish and needed reading material for my every day practice in Spanish reading. I’m not a Harry Potter fan, but it is a book I can find easily enough to compare it to an English book so that I can compare the two. In any case I have found no complaints and would recommend to anyone trying to learn Spanish or re-immerse themselves in it. I hope this helps! iMuchas Gracias!JPM
This is the third from the series, and from this one on the whole story becomes amazingly interesting. I really recommend the book itself, from this publisher, its hardcover is very nice, the paper is very good quality. It feels good, and easy to read. For this price, just get it ! you won't be disappointed.
Estoy leyendo por segunda vez la saga completa y creo que, con este libro, vemos cómo J.K. Rowling comienza a hacer evolucionar la historia general junto con sus lectores. Comienza a dejar a un lado cada vez más el tono infantil para darle un halo más oscuro que desembocará en su épico final. Una gran historia, muy bien narrada y con personajes que entraron a la lista de inolvidables...
