You can't beat the most popular and this edition has both the music and a decent CD. My main concern, however, is that many of the pages are very crowded and might present reading problems even for an advanced pianist. You might check some of the other excellant Alfred editions for the same music without the CD.
Great collection of Chopin's music (5 stars). However -It contains several ERRORS (1 star), such as:(1) page 13, line 4, 1st bar, last note for right hand must be A, not C;(2) p. 17, line 3, 1st bar, 2nd chord in left hand must be C-E-F, not C-E natural, F sharp;(3) p.32, line 4, 3rd bar, third note in right hand, the sharp symbol is too low - tones should be D sharp and C, instead of C sharp and D;(4) p. 50, 1st line, 5th bar, fourth chord in right hand - the sharp symbol, placed before the F, must be before the A instead;(5) also p. 50, 2nd line, 2nd bar, last chord left hand, sharp symbol placed too low, sharp must be before B instead of before A;(6) p.63, last line, 3rd bar, 2nd note in left hand is too low, must be B, not G; and(7) also p.63, last line, 3rd bar, 8th note in right hand is too low, must be natural G, not natural E.In addition, several notes are partly or totally MISSING (1 star), such as:(1) p.34, last line, G and D in right hand; and(2) p. 63, 2nd line, 3rd bar, C in right hand.Finally, some INSTRUCTIONS concerning the sequence of different parts are difficult to follow (1 star), especially while sight-reading, such as:(1) p. 20, last line, end of 1st bar, from that lonely sign "cross within circle" it is time-consuming to figure out that, after the 2nd repetition, the player must now jump to the Coda on p. 22;(2) p. 25, 3rd line, from the sign "cross within circle", the player must jump to the Coda (on the last line), but only after having played the preceding 3 lines for the third time;(3) p. 25, from end of 4th line to pass over the Coda (line 5) and go directly to page 26; and(4) from end of p. 27 jump to the 5th bar, on p. 24.
