Chumba La Cachumba is a book written in Spanish (which I cannot read or understand well). It's about telling time and, because of the illustrations full of skeletone, it is great to use around Halloween with children who speak Spanish. The audio that accompanies it, if you can locate the tape, is outrageous and fantastically fun. 6 stars out of 5. My kindergarteners love it - so do I. They chant Chumba La Cachumba all the way to the bus. It's unforgettable.
My favorite part is when they ate, all the food fell out of their bones. Review by a 7 year old.
If your Spanish is good or even just OK, give it a try. Kids love Cotte's rhythmic poetry, and it's not just about telling time... the skeleton theme makes it creepy fun for Halloween or Day of the Dead/Dia de los Muertos storytimes, for all ages.
