Desde la primera vez que vi la tapa supe que debía leerlo. Lo busqué en todas las librerías de mi país, y no lo hallé. Busqué en , y le pedí a mi hermana que me comprara el libro. Después de esperar unos 10 días, finalmente llegó, lo leí en 48 horas, no podía parar. Es un libro increíble, lloré, reí... Es tan real, tan humano, a través de las páginas uno siente el dolor, la angustia sufridos por el Capitán y luego el amor incondicional entre él y Tuesday.From the first time I saw the cover I knew I had to read it. I looked in every bookstore in my country, but I found none. I looked on , and I asked my sister to buy me the book. After waiting about 10 days, finally arrived, I finished it in 48 hours, I could not stop. It's an amazing book, I cried, I laughed ... It's so real, so human, through the pages one feels the pain, the anguish suffered by the Captain and then the unconditional love between him and Tuesday.(I'm Celeste Valiente Rebull, made the review through my sister's account).
I'm not exactly sure how it happened in December of 2012, but a search for a new book led me to something that was definitely a life-changer. As I looked at various book covers, I found myself drawn to one featuring the beautiful face of a Golden retriever. And then I saw the dog tags he held in his mouth. And then I read the title and heading. I knew this was a book I would want to read, but little did I know what reading this story would do to change my life. Capt. Luis Carlos Montalvan has graciously let readers into his life with Tuesday. Yes, Tuesday changed Luis' life, but Tuesday has also changed mine. I daresay these two individuals have been life-changers for many. The story of how Tuesday and Luis were paired makes readers realize that fate, destiny, serendipity, and the hand of God came into play to assist Luis with his many war-created injuries and Tuesday with his search for abiding love. The story inspires, educates, and creates an understanding of the difficulties our wounded warriors face when they return home. Along the way, readers gain an understanding of the many ways a service dog can transform a wounded life. Readers also see how one person can change the life of a dog who has undergone many transitions. Certainly, Luis and Tuesday were meant to be together, and certainly, this is a story meant to be read and shared. Be prepared to have your life changed upon reading this incredible story...and be prepared to share the book with everyone you know.

I came across Until Tuesday on when researching for stories on Golden Retrievers. The front cover of beautiful Tuesday made me immediately press "one click." Imagine my surprise to read this amazing, heartwarming story of courage, survival, heartache, and unconditional love that both Captain Luis Carlos Montalvan and Tuesday experienced and shared together. The tears flowed with each chapter. Captain Montalvan's service to our country and the pain, discouragements, and visible and invisible disabilities he returned home with, and stills suffers through, is not the only story here. These struggles are also shared by Tuesday. Both Luis and Tuesday come together in a most loving, dedicated, respected and courageous way, giving to each other what is so desperately needed. Until Tuesday inspires, educates and warms the heart. It is my very favorite along with Mr. Montalvan's children's book, "Tuesday Tucks Me In." Thank you Mr. Montalvan, not only for your 17 years of devoted service to our great country, but for also sharing your tearful, courageous, hopeful and loving story with us.
I cannot read and write in Spanish. I have read Until Tuesday many times, each time gaining something valuable for me personally. The first part of the book tells the story of how Tuesday, a Golden Retriever, was trained as a service dog, and how he was emotionally wounded by abandonment. The second part tells the story of the Luis Montalvan, a US Army officer, who was wounded terribly during 2 combat tours in Iraq, returned home with severe PTSD, and struggled to cope with his emotional and physical wounds. The final part of this true story tells how Tuesday and Luis helped each other heal. Reading this, the struggle of both Tuesday and Luis is transparent; the deep relationship they formed is palpable and amazing. I think anyone reading their story will find common aspects they face in their life: the power of hope; the need of any deep relationship for sacrifice and vulnerability; and what is needed to heal from any emotional wound and cope with any disability. Read this story once and you might certainly want to read it again.
