This is a true story. A story of perseverance, hope, courage and heart. This book follows Nina Eckhaus from her child hood in Poland to the Nazi take over to the separation from her family and concentration camps, during the invasion of Poland. This is a MUST read! I really hope to see a movie or mini series, on this book. oh and by the way, Nina ( whom i have met) according to her family has never told anyone her story until now with the help of her son "Effy". once you pick this book up you will not be able to put it down.
"Arouse! Arouse! (Get out! Get out!) So begins this terrifying story of a young girl's survival against all odds in the Nazi persecution of Jews in World War II. The surreal memory of Nazis invading her peaceful Polish community by bicycle, shocks the reader to immediate attention. Written by Effy Eckhaus, this is the true memoir of his mother, Nina Sternfeld, a blonde-haired Jewish girl who loses everything...her home...her family...to the ravages of the German "Final Solution". Although a frightening story, this is also a tale of survival...of a brave young woman who pits her wits and her courage against the most powerful military force of her time, and lives to live again. Nina Sternfeld not only survives, she marries and creates a new family, whose very existence is continuing proof of her victory over the dark forces of evil. This is a must read for any student of the Holocaust, and should be on every film maker's list as their next great movie project.
Great condition book, seems brand new. I can't wait to read the book
